| These images are from the 2001 Worlds Strongest Woman qualifiying games in Scotland. The contest was held July 28 and 29 in Callander Scotland.
Dr. Edmunds used the contest to test the equipment and to learn what the ideal weights were for the women since this was the first strongwoman contest he had put on.
The top 4 competitors from the qualifier would go on to the WSW finals in Zambia, Africa.
I was truly honored to be there and to win was the cherry on top! The other athletes were all very friendly and supportive of one another. Each athlete had a unique athletic background to bring excitement and variety to the contest.

The tire flip weighed approx 470 lbs. Flipped end over end down a 100 ft. course for time. I placed 1st in that event.

Keg loading race: 4 half-full kegs (weighing about 100 lbs each) had to be carried and loaded onto a flatbed trailer and stood on end. A timed event. I took 1st place on that one...

The axle clean and press was for max weight (1 rep). I won with 200 lbs.
Josee got 2nd with 175. The challenge with this was the ground was soft and slippery from the rain and it was difficult to get a firm footing.
Large divots from the weights being dropped repeatedly also caused a bit of a problem.

The Perch: Weight was added in small increments to the end of the pole.
The pole had to be raised to a vertical position. Whoever was able to raise
the most weight won. There was a bit of technique involved. Only Heini had
done this event before; I got 2nd to Heini on this one.

David Webster, probably the most knowledgable strength historian on the planet to the far left playing MC.
All the big men are pro highland games competitors. We alternated doing events with them.

Exhausted athletes. Milo establishes a very secure perimeter as Jill and friend Heini take a well-deserved break, face-down in the grass.
